Please can we have an update on the Leasehold and Freehold Bill 2023-24?

Have you thought of joining the Chartered Association of Building Engineers?   See:

    https://cbuilde.com/page/cabe_member_grades

You may be able to join on the strength of your MRICS qualification and work experience.

I suspect that the jobsworth at the mortgage lender would then be quite happy – but I always advise that the client checks first.

    Hi, David

While you do not give any information regarding the nature and age of the private school building(s), or the porpose of the survey, we deal with usch reports on a bespoke basis.

Most houses and flats are regular grists to the mill and it is arguable that survey reports could be somewhat generic, hence various attempts to produce templates.   Other buildings, such as schools (privare or otherwise) are often unique and need the surveyor to rely on his/her training and experience.

in reply to: Advice regarding estate management from Tom Littler #1908

    Hi, Tom

Although I see that your specific question has been answered, may I point out that:

    (a) the legal liability lies with the landlord/freeholder, not with the managing agent

    and

    (b) a complaint to the local environmental health department might bear fruit, if the conditions remain “unsanitary”. It has legal powers of enforcement.

    Regards

    Owen
