I am well known as not being a fan of Michael Gove. However there are some very important areas in this consultation which you might want to make comments about. Not all of it is daft but there is a fair chunk which is counter to the principles of sustainable development and mitigating climate change. You might want to take part, if nothing else to understand what is being proposed which includes wider and taller extensions including L shape wrap arounds, scrapping the no more than 50% of the site to be occupied by the dwelling principle and permitting an owner to convert as much as their loft space as they want. It also covers air source heat pumps and electric vehicle charging, default permission for demolition of commercial buildings and so on. It will take an hour or more to complete the consultation so there’s some free CPD for you! Consultation is open now and closes on 9th April

I would add that the consultation is on proposals for England only
