ISVA Regional Seminars 2022-2023

Throughout December ’22 and January ’23, Ian Vicary , Julia, and Pip travelled across the country to host day-long regional seminars for ISVA members and guests. Locations included Preston, Shrewsbury, Tunbridge Wells, and North Devon. These regional seminars intended to encourage our membership to come together in person, with the added bonus of 5 hours of formal CPD.

Each day consisted of several talks covering topics such as Home Survey Standards, Valuations, Dampness, Aerial Drones and their use for surveyors, Complaints Handling, and last but not least a quiz. The day was designed to allow a more discussion based approach, meaning that attendees could share their experiences, ask questions, and of course engage in healthy debate. With a pub lunch to break up the day, there was opportunity for everyone to catch up, share stories, and impart advice.

Each day had a great turnout, with on average 20 surveyors. Attendees included local members, and some members who even travelled nearly 100 miles! Given the distance some travelled, and the weather conditions traversed, we are delighted to say the seminars were a resounding success. Feedback was incredibly positive. See some lovely comments below;

“Most valuable day and good to catch up with similar minded Chartered Surveyors.”

“I thought the relaxed approach worked well, and hopefully everyone came away with some useful nuggets – I certainly did.”

“The discussions between surveyors was very useful and something I personally miss from my days working in a larger practice.”

“The presentation and cross dialogue with experienced professionals was one of the best events I have attended.”

“Great to do it locally , good to meet ISVA members …”

Given the success of these events, we are planning to make these an annual event for ISVA members in different locations. In the foreseeable, we are hoping to organise events in the summer of 2023 in to-be-confirmed locations, but we can confirm one event will be arranged for the London and surrounding areas. So, keep your eyes out for upcoming events!

Thanks to all of you who attended, the events could not have been such a success without all your input and positivity!
